Canada Music Week
The aims of Canada Music Week® are to bring to the attention of the public, through various means, the importance of Canadian music; to support composers and performers of Canadian music; to introduce contemporary music to young Canadians and stimulate a keener appreciation and understanding of this music; and to encourage music educators to widen their knowledge and experience of Canadian works. NBRMTA Student Composer Competition
The NBRMTA Student Composer Competition is an annual competition. Students can enter their original compositions in various categories as per the chart and guidelines that follow. Compositions will be judged, with eligible winners advancing to the CFMTA National Student Composer Competition.

Call for Compositions
CFMTA holds a Call for Compositions each year to celebrate Canada Music Week. The Call is open to Canadian composers and invites submissions of new, unpublished piano solos and junior choral works.

The National CFMTA Essay Competition invites submissions of essays on any topic related to music teaching, pedagogy or performance practice. This competition is open to all Canadian residents currently attending high school, or studying at the university undergraduate and graduate levels.

Atlantic Young Artist Series
The Atlantic Young Artist Competition and Tour are projects of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Association and its provincial counterparts in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. The biennial competition takes place in even-numbered years and is open to pianists, singers and instrumentalists between the ages of 16 and 25 (27 for vocalists) who are currently studying with a Registered Music Teacher. Competitors must be performing at the Senior Concert level.

NBRMTA Provincial Piano Competition
The NBRMTA Provincial Piano Competition is a biennial competition held in odd-numbered years to select a pianist to represent New Brunswick at the CFMTA National Piano Competition.

NBRMTA Music Competition
The NBRMTA Music Competition is a biennial competition held in even-numbered years. It is open to students of all disciplines [instrumental and voice] who are currently studying with a Registered Music Teacher in New Brunswick. This is a relaxed and enjoyable competition is a chance for your students to have a performance opportunity in advance of festivals and exams.
