Heather Hindman
A teacher, pianist and composer, Heather Hindman’s creative work has spanned festivals and concerts across Canada, Europe, the UK and New Zealand. The combination of her classical and jazz piano background with being a classically- trained composer has helped her develop a diverse perspective towards music and teaching, where she enjoys fostering creativity in students of all ages and abilities. She holds a Master of Music, is a professional member of the Canadian League of Composers and the Canadian Federation of Music teachers, and has served on the advisory board of New Music Edmonton. Her work has been supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, the Canada Council for the Arts, the Edmonton Arts Council and the Socan Foundation. She is currently an Assistant Lecturer in Composition at the University of Alberta and maintains a small private piano and theory studio in Edmonton, Ab.
