The NBRMTA Student Composer Competition is an annual competition. Entry deadline each year is March 15th. Entrants must be students of teachers who are members of the New Brunswick Registered Music Teachers’ Association. If you are interested in having your students compete in this competition, but are not yet a Registered Music Teacher in the province of New Brunswick, please visit our membership page for full details on how to become a member.

Eligible students can enter their original compositions in various categories as per the chart and guidelines that follow. Compositions will be judged, with eligible winners advancing to the CFMTA National Student Composer Competition.

Le Concours de composition pour les élèves du Nouveau-Brunswick de l'APMNB est un concours annuel. Les élèves des professeurs membres de l’APMNB sont invités à soumettre leur compositions originales selon les règlements qui suivent. Les compositions seront jugées, les gagnants admissibles se qualifiant pour le Concours national de compositeurs étudiants de la CFMTA à la discrétion de l'arbitre. JANET HAMMOCK COMPOSITION AWARDS: Janet Hammock is a Canadian composer and pianist, currently residing in Sackville, New Brunswick. She is a member of the NBRMTA and Professor Emeritus of Mount Allison University where she taught with the Department of Music for 31 years. Two awards are awarded annually to the best original compositions, in the opinion of the adjudicator, written by students 15 years of age and under.

 

PRIX DE COMPOSITION DE JANET HAMMOCK :

Janet Hammock est une compositrice et pianiste canadienne, résidant actuellement à Sackville, au Nouveau-Brunswick. Elle est membre de la NBRMTA et professeure émérite de l'Université Mount Allison où elle a enseigné au département de musique pendant 31 ans. Deux prix sont décernés annuellement aux meilleures compositions originales, de l'avis du jury, écrites par des étudiants de 15 ans et moins.
