NBRMTA Music Competition
In 2012 the NBRMTA Music Competition will be open to all pianists, instrumentalists and singers. This is designed to be an informal, friendly competition. As before, teachers entering students will also serve as adjudicators. The competition is open to students currently studying with teachers who are members of NBRMTA.
This event will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2012 at the Charlotte Street Arts Centre (732 Charlotte St.) in Fredericton, NB.
The competition will consist of 4 Divisions (all levels coincide with RCM grades):
Division 1: Grades 3, 4, and 5
Division 2: Grades 6, 7, and 8
Division 3: Grades 9 and 10
Division 4: ARCT
Divisions 1 and 2 have a maximum time limit of 15 minutes. The entry fee is $25
Divisions 3 and 4 have a maximum time limit of 30 minutes. The entry fee is $40
Each student will play two contrasting selections. Instrumentalists and singers will be responsible for providing their own accompanists.

This is a fantastic chance for you and your students to hear performances from all parts of New Brunswick. The public is cordially invited to attend all performances and enjoy a wide variety of music in an atmosphere of friendly competition and an exchange of musical ideas.
