 NB Piano Competition Entry Form

The New Brunswick Piano Competition, under the direction of the NBRMTA, is held in order to select one pianist who will represent New Brunswick in the National Semi-finals of the CFMTA-FCAPM Piano Competition to be held in Sackville, New Brunswick at the CFMTA National Convention, July 8-11, 2009. The New Brunswick Piano Competition offers a very important opportunity for talented young high school and university level pianists.

Each province holds its own competition to select one piano competitor to represent that province in the National Semi-finals in Sackville. New Brunswick has again chosen to hold its competition by asking for recorded submissions. The successful candidate will be selected by a distinguished jury to proceed to the National Semi-final round in Sackville. The NB Piano Competition Application Form, entry fee and recorded submission must be packaged together and received on or before November 15, 2008.

Each stage of the competition ‚ Provincial, National Semi-finals, and National Finals ‚ is governed by its own particular regulations. Because successful competitors at the Provincial level must be prepared to proceed to the higher levels, the repertoire and time requirements for each level must be carefully considered before the student applies to compete on the Provincial level.

We¼d like to see many enthusiastic competitors compete at the Provincial level since the National Piano Competition will be held in New Brunswick. This is our chance to show off the tremendous talent that exists in our province. Also, the monetary prizes for the winners at the National level are very attractive indeed! Now is the time to begin planning with your students! We also request that you pass this information along to teachers who are not members of the NBRMTA who may be interested in joining our organization so their students will also be eligible to compete.
